Health Quest will celebrate Nutrition Month with Food as Medicine, a healthy, interactive dining experience held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Mar. 20, at the Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory, 8 North Cherry St.
This event is open to the public, with limited seating, and has no cost.
Registration is required.
Health Quest registered dietitians and chef Brandon Walker of Essie’s Restaurant in Poughkeepsie will provide nutritious food-tasting stations and tips on healthy eating.
“Eating nutritious food is a major component of maintaining proper health,” said Heather Scafidi, clinical nutrition manager at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. “This event is a great opportunity for the community to learn how food and nutrition can be the supreme and natural power that helps rebuild and restore the body from the inside out.”
Participants will have the opportunity to sample small plates, ask questions, watch a live cooking demonstration and enter to win a raffle.
Farm fresh ingredients were also donated by the Poughkeepsie Farm Project, which improves access to healthy, locally grown food, trains future farmers and provides educational programs to the community.
