Empire Zone program reaches its end

We had heard that the Empire Zone program would be reaching its end on June 30th, and that seems to be the case. I can't claim to be an expert in business development, but the focus of the proposed Excelsior Jobs Program (which will replace the Empire Zone program) on large companies and biotech/energy industries certainly won't help our small Main Street businesses. CPC Hudson Valley Main Street Summit

Last Friday, I got the chance to attend The Community Preservation Corporation’s (CPC) Hudson Valley Main Street Summit in Poughkeepsie. Schools Empowering Young People to End Gun Violence with the Support of the City of P'ok

Here is an article from the Poughkeepsie Journal about a march that students, school district staff, elected officials, and the local Guardian Angel chapter took part in. It is a part of an initiative aimed at stopping gun violence.
